"This past Summer, I was given a stack of vintage sheet music. While going through them, I was struck by the old 2 color printing style and the graphic nature of them. There was this beautiful tattered romantic one called "Have you ever been lonely?" I had just had a conversation with a sweet friend who was having a difficult time the day I began this piece. Working through the process of this piece, thinking of and praying for my friend, a story began to come together. Though we may, at times, feel like a shadow and alone, it's just a moment, a season, and no matter how we feel during those times, there is beauty and goodness growing all around us and through us."
